As the repository of business registrations and state business records, the office of Secretary of State plays a major role in helping small businesses do what they do best – create jobs!

People often think of the Vermont Secretary of State’s office as being charged with safeguarding elections and making sure every vote counts. My vision for the Secretary of State’s office is to develop an office of excellence – to be the most efficient, productive, accessible, and customer-friendly office in state government.

“I will improve online communications between the Office of the Secretary of State and the business community to make it easier to conduct business in Vermont,” said Jim Condos, Democratic candidate for Vermont Secretary of State. “I will develop the resources of the Office to coordinate and act as a hub for information about programs that help business.”

Condos recognizes that small business is the heart of the Vermont economy and has committed to doing everything he can to support Vermont small businesses.

“In order to develop the appropriate strategies to assist in creating jobs in Vermont,” says Condos, “I will convene an advisory group of small business leaders in Vermont, as they are the experts in their fields and can provide the best direct input into my job creation strategies.”

Jim Condos has a unique and relevant background for the Secretary of State position. He has over 20 years of elected public service including 18 years on South Burlington City Council, 8 years as a Vermont State Senator, along with over 30 years of private sector business experience. Jim has a record of getting things done because he is considered pragmatic, collaborative and a consensus builder.
